Cornish Rex: origin
Originally from Cornwall, it was in 1950 when the first specimen of this breed was born, which the caregivers named Kollibunker. This kitten was very special because it had a wavy coat and it is for this characteristic that the breed is called "rex", sharing this name with a breed of rabbits that also have curly fur. This breed of cat gained so much popularity that within a few years it reached America. The growth was so great that in 1967 a breed standard had already been created in England and only a few years later, around 1970, the breed was recognized in the United States.
