Mini or miniature schnauzer
O mini or miniature schnauzer it's the scaled-down version of the standard Schnauzer, which we all know. To achieve the reduced size, specimens of particularly small breeds were selected for their subsequent creation, thus obtaining specimens of reduced dimensions.
Your measurements are between 30 and 38 centimeters up to the back and usually weigh about 5 kilograms, never exceeding 7 kilos.
The physical characteristics of the miniature Schnauzer are very similar to those of the larger specimens. However, we must highlight something in the character of these little ones.
The miniatures are very active dogs and are always on the alert, they are perfect for people who want to have this sweet animal with them. They must be acquainted with the exalted behavior of small breeds. They can be great for children if you educate them properly through good socialization.
It is very important to consider where we are going to adopt the miniature schnauzer. As you may already know, dogs selected to foster concrete offspring usually have hereditary health problems.
This is due to the use for breeding dogs with inbreeding, which increases the chances of genetic mutation. Some of the issues that can affect your miniature schnauzer are:

The schnauzer is a loving and loyal dog, also an excellent watchman and that is why it was left in charge of horses and mares in the past: it always alerted in the presence of any strange situation.
The features of the standard schnauzer are as follows:
- Give me between 45 and 50 centimeters up to the back
- It usually weighs between 15 to 20 kilograms, a little less in females.
This dog competes for second positions with regard to the smartest dogs and is therefore excellent in different tasks: driving cattle and herding, companionship or surveillance. Your character is loyal and sweet although on occasion he may be a little jealous. They will love your care and spend time with you.
giant schnauzer
The giant schnauzer went unnoticed for years. It was used as a working dog, guarding factories, breweries or corrals until it was used as a military dog in the first and second world wars.
