apple vinegar and water
Apple cider vinegar is an excellent ingredient as it has several benefits when applied to veterinary health. It is a liquid capable of acting as an effective lice, flea and tick repellentIt will also help to increase the dog's natural resistance against viruses and bacteria.
To use it for deworming we must mix it in equal parts with water and use this mixture to bathe our puppy, we can also apply it topically several times a day on the dog's fur using a cotton pad. The ideal is to give him a bath and then apply the vinegar topically until we can't see signs of the presence of parasites.
tea tree essential oil
It is one of the best natural remedies to deworm the dog, due to its antiseptic, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial action. Furthermore, due to its smell it is one of the most effective natural repellents not only against parasites, but also against various insects.
It does not have any type of toxic effect, however, as it is a very concentrated oil contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided. You should apply it making a simple lotion, for which you will need the following ingredients:
- 5 milliliters of tea tree essential oil
- 15 milliliters of distilled water
- 80 milliliters of 96º antiseptic alcohol
Mix all the components and apply the resulting lotion all over the dog's fur, trying to make contact with the skin, so it is best to apply the lotion in the opposite direction to the hair growth.
It is better to do this application outside the home, as the fleas leave the animal very quickly. And, to prevent new parasitic infestations, we recommend adding 20 drops of tea tree essential oil for every 100 milliliters of dog shampoo and performing the usual hygiene with this mixture.
Eucalyptus infusion
The smell of eucalyptus leaves is a effective repellent against fleas and ticks and will help eliminate their presence if the dog has already been infested.
It is recommended to make an infusion with eucalyptus leaves and once it has cooled down, bathe the dog with it. You can also use the branches and leaves of this plant by placing them near your puppy's resting place, this way you will be able to kill fleas and ticks more easily and your puppy will be able to rest better.
lavender essential oil
Lavender essential oil acts as an antiseptic and it is useful for preventing and treating external parasitic infestations, its smell is much nicer than tea tree essential oil, and its effectiveness as a repellent is somewhat less.
We recommend that lavender essential oil be used periodically as a preventive, although can complement the action of other natural remedies when the parasitic infestation has already occurred.
As in the case of tea tree essential oil, contact with eyes and mucous membranes should be avoided, but it can be applied directly to the skin using cotton.
