Origin of Prazsky Krysarik
The story of Prazsky Krysarik begins in the Middle Ages, in the royal palaces of central Europe, more specifically in Bohemia (Czech Republic). There, it was a very popular race, present even in aristocratic parties of the time. Princes, kings, and other government offices enjoyed Prazsky's company as a status symbol. The devotion of the prince of the time (Vladislav II) to the dog was so great that he began to offer it as a gift to Slovak kings and nobles, later also to other members of European courts.
Other kings joined the trend, such as Boleslav II of Poland and Karel IV of the Czech Republic. The dog became such a popular animal that even ordinary citizens began to enjoy it as a companion dog.
But as with almost everything else, Prazsky's popularity has plummeted in the face of the misery that plagued central Europe after the wars. It was rejected as a show dog for being considered "too small". Mysteriously, Prazsky Krysarik survived the passage of time and centuries of anonymity until, in 1980, it is revived thanks to the pressure of some fans. Currently, it is possible to enjoy this breed in many places around the world.
Physical characteristics
As explained above, the Prazsky Krysarik is a toy or miniature dog, which means it's a very small dog. In adulthood, it can reach a size of 20 - 23 centimeters to the cross, together with a weight that varies between 1.5 and 3.5 kilograms. However, its ideal weight is around 2.6 kilograms.
