Fish, in general, are sensitive animals that need specific care to survive. Normally we all want large aquariums with lots of exotic and striking fish, however, if we are not experienced in caring for fish, we should not be guided simply by their appearance without taking into account if they are too delicate species and that they can get sick easily. So it's important that when you have the first aquarium, adopt resistant and peaceful species, which do not cause problems and adapt well to living with other fish.

Cyprinid
It is a very extensive fish family. It is characterized by its elongated shape and its lateral compression, in addition to having large scales and teeth on the back of the larynx. Mostly are gregarious fish, so we must adopt several of the same species so that they can live together. Some of the fish that make up this large family are ideal for beginners, as explained below:
- Chinese neon: adapts perfectly to aquariums without a heater, they feed on any small fish food and are not particularly sensitive to changes.
- damages: There are many varieties of Danios that you can easily find in fish stores. They are not aggressive and, like the Chinese neons, they easily feed on any food for small fish.
- Scratches: They are calm fish that must coexist with other fish of the same character. For a beginner, harlequins or lines are recommended.
Corydoras
It is a very large family from South America. They are usually small and need to live in a group, are very peaceful and coexist very well with fish of other species. In addition, they are very resistant fish that survive in aquariums with little oxygen. It is often thought that these fish are used to eat the detritus of the aquarium, but nothing further from reality, although they usually stay at the bottom of the aquarium looking for food, need fish food, so it is recommended to feed them with special food for bottom fish.
There are very sensitive corydoras that die quickly, however there are other species that are very resistant and therefore they become ideal fish for beginners. Some of them are the bronze coridora, the leopard coridora, the skunk coridora, the spotted-tail coridora, the masked coridora, or the panda coridora.

These fish are very striking for their cheerful colors. They come from the Australia, New Guinea and Madagascar region. They need to live in groups of more than six fish to grow up happy and stable.
They are a very recommendable option for those who have never had fish and want to start with an aquarium full of color. They are easy to maintain, but as they are active fish, they need the aquarium to be big enough so they can move around at will. In addition, the aquarium water must be between 22 and 26ºC.
Some of the rainbow fish families recommended for beginners are the Australian, the Boesemani rainbow and the Turkish rainbow.
