Origin of the Belgian Shepherd Tervueren
The Belgian Shepherd Tervueren owes its name to the Belgian village of Tervueren. This cute puppy was not always very popular. After two seasons in which this breed had almost disappeared, the Tervueren managed to gain popularity in 1945.
Although each Belgian Shepherd variety has a particular history, the history of the Tervueren is part of the history of the entire breed, being the variety resulting from the crossing between the Belgian Shepherd Groenendael and the long-haired Collie.
