How to know if your rabbit is male?
The ideal is put the bunny on its back to examine it more comfortably. You can sit down and place it on your knees, or place it on a table in the same position. First you will see the stomach and belly, and closer to the tail two holes.
In males, these holes are considerably separated from each other. Very close to the tail you will be able to identify the anus, and if it is a male, the hole that follows will be in the shape of a circle and will be separated from the previous one. This may be enough to be sure, at 8 weeks, that you are a male.
If you have a little more experience with baby rabbits, you can pull the tail very carefully and press very gently on the second hole. If it's a male, this will make the penis visible, a small cylinder. If you don't think you can do this operation with the necessary tact, you'd better avoid doing it so as not to hurt the rabbit.
When you reach 3 or 4 months, it will be easier to distinguish the male, so you can confirm your suspicions. at this age the testicles are visible in most cases, although on rare occasions these do not go down and only see the penis. A veterinarian should review the animal on these occasions.

How to know if your rabbit is female?
The process is the same for females. You should place the rabbit on its back so that it is comfortable, avoiding stressing the rabbit with sudden or insistent movements. At the end of the belly will be the genital region. The anus, as you already know, is located close to the tail, and if it is a female, the orifice that follows corresponds to the vulva, which will be very close to this one.
One significant difference is that, compared to males, this second orifice has an oval shape rather than a circular one. By applying the same technique of pressing a little on the tail and on the second orifice, the female reproductive system will become more visible, characterized by an oval bulge and a separation in the middle.
