What does a coral snake eat?
In the wild, the coral snake feeds on frogs, lizards and other types of snakes smaller than itself. For this reason, in captivity we must provide them with small rat offspring (it is not necessary for them to be live food).
What terrarium do I need for my coral snake?
A baby coral that is just 6 inches tall is already highly poisonous and will grow to a meter and a half in length if it's lucky. For this we must have a terrarium of at least 100 x 60 x 90 cm. They are nocturnal and solitary snakes that spend most of the day hidden among the jungle's mantle and in tree trunks.
Create a suitable environment with logs and vegetation for your coral snake, add gravel to the bottom and you can even create a burrow. Remember that snakes are adept at escaping and any hole you might forget will be perfect for your escape.
The temperature should be between 25ºC and 32ºC and the light must be natural (it needs periods of 10 to 12 hours of light, while at night it can remain dark). Finally, add a drinking fountain for reptiles that you can find at any specialty store.

The coral snake is a beautiful but lethal animal. Its effects can begin to develop until after twelve hours, at which time we begin to experience faulty connections with the brain and muscles, faulty speech and double vision. Death can be produced by cardiac or respiratory failure.

What if the coral snake bites me?

In any case, we advise you to inform your friends or family before buying a coral snake and alert them in case you suffer a bite. Don't wait a second and go to the hospital. Bear in mind that, depending on the metabolism of each person, the poison acts more or less quickly, don't play with your health.
