Rottweiler History
The race has its formal origin in the German region of Rottweil. However, its history goes back to the time of the Roman Empire. At that time, the predecessors of today's Rottweiler were used as protection dogs and to drive cattle.
When the Romans arrived in the Rottweil region, their puppies crossed with native puppies. The result of these crosses gave rise to the "Rottweil butcher dog", which was used to collaborate with local butchers during the slaughter of cattle. These dogs were responsible for controlling the most aggressive bulls and cows, facilitating the butchers' activity. Being very brave, they were also used to protect property. Over time, the breed's capacity for other functions was recognized and its popularity began to increase.
Currently, the Rottweiler is stigmatized and designated as a dangerous dog due to irresponsible owners. Hopefully this doesn't harm the breed or lead to its extinction, and hopefully fate has a brighter future for these dog-clad guardian angels.

Perhaps the most striking feature of the Rottweiler is its broad head and medium length, which features a powerful muzzle that is neither short nor long in relation to the skull. The scissors bite achieves its full power thanks to the dog's strong and large jaws.
You eyes, medium and dark brown, give the dog an expression of security and confidence that is not easy to appreciate in other breeds. On the contrary, the Rottweiler's triangular and pendant ears are not particularly flashy and are easily overlooked by the average observer. However, by being well glued to the head and oriented forward, they give the skull a more realistic appearance.

The spine is strong and straight, continues with a short, strong and deep loin. The chest in turn is large and deep. Thanks to its robust body, the Rottweiler is capable of knocking down a grown person without the need to bite them.
In the past, these puppies' tails were required to be amputated for aesthetic purposes. Nowadays, and luckily for puppies, the International Cynological Federation (FCI) demands the complete tail. Unfortunately, other organizations continue to accept severed tails in their exhibits.
When talking about the appearance of the Rottweiler one cannot fail to mention the double fur of these puppies, being hard and of medium length the external fur. The black and fire color of this fur helps define the Rottweiler's image.
