Before starting the preparation of ice cream for dogs, we offer some tips for its preparation, as well as the necessary ingredients and some details to take into account:

  1. Container for making ice cream. If you don't have a container of your own, you can use a plastic cup or any other container you feel is suitable.
  2. Dog snacks with a long format. The cookies allow to fix the ice cream without mess and are edible for the dog to eat without any problem.
  3. Blender or food processor. Essential to achieve a homogeneous result.

Ingredients for making ice cream for dogs

  • rice vegetable milk
  • Sugar-free natural yogurt

As a base for making the ice creams, we decided to use vegetable rice milk and unsweetened natural yoghurt. The latter is not harmful to puppies as it is low in lactose, making it a good food supplement for dogs that are fed homemade diets. Check out other dog food supplements in this article.

If you prefer, you can use a lactose-free yogurt or water, your dog will like it too. However, never use cow's milk as the ingredient is not well digested by dogs.

  • Banana: rich in fiber and indicated for dogs with constipation. Contains minerals, energy and vitamins. However, offer this ingredient in moderation.
  • watermelon: it is very rich in water, perfect for hydrating the dog in summer. Remove the seeds and offer them in moderation as it is a food with high fructose content.
  • Carrot: It is very beneficial due to its antioxidant, depurative and digestive properties. Strengthens teeth and enhances vision.
  • Melon: it is a source of vitamins A and E, it is antioxidant and diuretic. Remove the seeds and offer this fruit in moderation.

These are some of the fruits and vegetables recommended for dogs, but you can use others that you feel are more beneficial or that your dog likes more. Don't forget that if your dog has hypersensitivity or allergy, the most appropriate is to offer a water-based ice cream and a theft or vegetable that he can digest without problems. Consult your veterinarian if you have any questions.
