Steps to follow: 1
The first step will be to gather the ingredients we need to make the porridge for baby canaries, we can divide them into two groups, the basic components and the additional components.
Basic components:
- Dry paste: Regardless of the product brand, all types of special dry paste for puppies are made following the same formula.
- Breadcrumbs: Its main function, in addition to being used as a basic product that makes porridge more economical, is to allow subsequent enrichment with additional components, such as proteins or vitamins.
- High quality cooked wheat flour, which gives it a great capacity to absorb water and is therefore essential to give the baby food the desired consistency. If you don't have this wheat flour, you can use couscous, as it is a food for human consumption, you can find it more easily.
Additional components:
- Brewer's yeast (you can use the one used for human consumption, but the one specifically for poultry is recommended).
- Negrillo: These seeds are very tasty for the birds and help to achieve the desired flavor for the porridge.
- Powdered vitamin complex: use a bird-specific product.
- Powdered mineral complex: use a specific product for birds.
- Omega 3 and Omega 6: small envelopes are sold with a liquid that has these properties, it is a very good product in small doses that helps the bird's growth.
- Egg: With the shell included and crushed, it offers an extra dose of calcium, much needed for the development of canaries.
- Honey: This product of natural origin is ideal whenever we add small doses.
- Canola (rapeseed) cooked and washed.
It should be noted that these are the additional components to prepare a baby canary porridge suitable for any time of year, however, we can use more products in order to make a specific pope for each time of the year.
It's very simple to make a porridge for baby canaries, however, we must know how to clearly differentiate four stages in this preparation, in which we are going to make 3 different mixtures from the ingredients mentioned above.
We're going to need a clean container that we're going to add the dry baby food and, to a lesser extent, breadcrumbs. Finally, we mix well until the mixture is homogeneous and of a compact consistency.

2the second step of the preparation of porridge for baby canaries consists in adding a series of ingredients to the previous mixture:
- brewer's yeast
- Negrillo
- Egg
- Honey
We go back to mixing everything very well until we get a homogeneous mass.
3To start the third stage of preparation we need another clean container, in which we will mix the following ingredients:
- Cooked wheat flour or couscous
- 3/4 parts of water
We wait until the wheat flour or couscous has completely absorbed the water and then we mix this preparation with the paste we made earlier, we must mix it very well, so it will be useful to do it with your hands.
The final consistency of this mixture should be spongy and smooth, the mass should be moist and free of lumps, it should not stick in the hands, but remain completely loose.
Once you have done this, you should divide the product into 1 kg packages, leave one package outside and keep the rest in the freezer until you need a new container. Only then will we proceed to the last stage of preparation.
