O American Staffordshire Terrier or Amstaff is a dog that was first bred in the English region of Staffordshire. Its origins can be traced back to the English Bulldog, the Black Terrier, the Fox Terrier or the English White Terrier. Later on and after World War II, the Amstaff became popular in the United States and was encouraged to cross a heavier, more muscular strain, distinguishing it as a separate breed. Physical appearance
